Mandatory Training for State EmployeesIntroduction
The State Personnel Office's Learning and Development Bureau (LDB) provides strategic learning solutions to support the goals of agencies across State government by promoting employee development, success, and advancement. The LDB provides instructor led classes, on-demand eLearning courses, structured learning programs, and consultative partnerships with State agency leadership and HR professionals to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness.
Purpose
Pursuant to 1.7.1.15(B) NMAC, two new manager/supervisor courses have been designated mandatory for classified service employees in supervisory positions. This ensures statewide interpretation and application with State Personnel Board rules, and other applicable laws related to employee discipline, employee performance evaluation, and creating an equitable work environment. These new manager/supervisor courses are in addition to the courses already deemed mandatory in the state and listed below.

Employees can sign up for classes on the SHARE ELM system by searching for course title or course code, selecting the class option, and clicking "Enroll." Employees who lack SHARE ELM access can view the upcoming class calendar on the SPO website https://www.spo.state.nm.us/learning-development/ and contact the LDB for enrollment assistance at Learning.Development@spo.nm.gov.
