Class Code: SoNM-1915-6
As of Feb. 2024: this hybrid course replaces the former Managing Employee Performance (MEP) course that is required for all supervisors.
This course is mandatory upon appointment to supervision. This is a hybrid course, and both sections must be completed in order to receive credit for the course.
Completion of Part 1 (self-paced eLearning under course code SoNM-1914) is required in order to enroll in Part 2 (instructor-led, interactive course under course code SoNM-1915). Part 1 overviews requirements, evaluation cycles, and best practices. Part 2 provides practice setting goals, rating performance, and writing feedback comments.
Conducting Performance Evaluations (CPE) helps managers and supervisors learn to implement the Employee Evaluation Cycle, write goals that promote employee growth and development, and rate employee performance. The Employee Evaluation process is more than a mandatory review of performance; it’s an opportunity for you to ensure the success of every member of your team and the mission you serve. The hybrid CPE course is intended to support you in that effort. New Mexico State Personnel Board rule 188.8.131.52 requires the CPE course within 90 days of appointment as a supervisor or manager, but attendance is encouraged for any manager or supervisor who might benefit from the course. Registration required.
If you are an individual with a disability who is in need of an accommodation to participate in a State Personnel training, please email Personnel.Training@spo.nm.gov.
