Do you know the business case for hiring practices that are inclusive of neurodivergent job candidates?

The NM State Personnel Office Training and Development Bureau, in collaboration with SPO Summer Intern Harvey McGuinness, is offering a training on “Neurodiversity and Best Practices for Hiring.”

This training is open to all who are interested in the topic, and will be especially helpful for those with responsibilities for interviewing and hiring job candidates, including hiring managers and Human Resources professionals.

The goals for this training are:

  1. Understand neurodiversity, neurodivergence, and neurotypicality
  2. Recognize how implicit preference for neurotypical behaviors may unnecessarily hinder employment opportunities for neurodivergent job seekers
  3. Identify best practices for conducting inclusive hiring processes that avoid unnecessarily screening out neurodivergent candidates
