Compensation Increase Instructions
In March 2022, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law an unprecedented compensation package for State of New Mexico employees. Beginning in July 2022, State of New Mexico employees who meet the following eligibility criteria will see pay increases:
- Completed their probationary period no later than June 30, 2023
- Received an overall rating of “Achieves Performance Standards” or higher on their last final evaluation
The FY23 pay raise is based on employee compa-ratio and pay band. Compa-ratio is a measure that expresses current pay rates as a percentage of range midpoints. At a minimum, eligible employees will receive a raise of 4%.
In addition to pay raises for eligible employees, all State of New Mexico employees shall be paid a minimum of $15 per hour.
How to Calculate Your Pay Raise

Note: In order to be eligible to receive a pay increase in FY23, you must meet the eligibility criteria listed above.
Where to find your hourly pay rate: Your hourly pay rate is located on your pay stub under “Hours and Earnings.” Find your pay stub by logging into the SHARE Information System.
Where to find your pay band: First, find your official SPO job title. Your title is located on the timesheet entry page in SHARE, or you can find it on your pay stub. Once you have your job title, go to our FY22 Classification and Pay Listing and locate your job title. Find the pay band number or letter listed under the “Grade” column.
